Passion was never
the problem.

Most women don't need more drive to start a business. They need a plan to harness it — and resources that actually fit their life. That's the whole reason Apricity exists.

Why this exists

The gap nobody designs for.

When a woman with an idea goes looking for help, here's what she usually finds.

i.

Too expensive

Real strategy is priced for businesses that already have money — a five-figure quote to answer a first-year question.

ii.

Too complicated

Buried in jargon that never fits a real life with limited time and a long to-do list.

iii.

Too theoretical

Confident advice from people who've never actually shipped a product, made a sale, or run the unglamorous parts themselves.

Apricity is the answer to all three: serious help, plainly priced, from someone who's done the work.

What we believe

The principles under everything.

01

A plan beats more passion.

You already have the drive. What's missing is the sequence — what to do, in what order, with what you have right now.

02

Affordable is not the same as cheap.

Lower prices shouldn't mean lesser work. Every deliverable is something we'd be proud to hand a paying client at any price.

03

You should see the price before you say hello.

Public starting prices, written quotes, a clear payment schedule. No mystery pricing, no pressure, no surprise invoices.

04

What we teach, we live.

The advice comes from real businesses we actually run — not from a textbook. We pay for the mistakes so you don't have to.

A note from the founder

Apricity is only the beginning of something beautiful.

I'm Alana Corwin, a senior at Iowa State University studying entrepreneurship — though I didn't wait for a diploma to start building. I've learned to work with real clients through CyBIZ Lab, lead and teach as president of ISU's Entrepreneur Club, and use it all to run my own company, Apricity — where I help women build businesses of their own. Everything I do comes back to one phrase: build something beautiful.

My sense of purpose didn't come from a classroom. My own experiences with child abuse and the foster care system taught me early on how much a person's path depends on who shows up for them, and how much possibility sits inside people the world often overlooks. That's the passion behind everything I build, and it's why my long-term vision centers on three key areas: support for children and families affected by foster care, professional development for individuals seeking growth, and women's wellness.

Apricity is how I turn that conviction into craft. At its heart is Apricity Consulting, where I serve women entrepreneurs with one-on-one guidance — so I learn and teach the full shape of entrepreneurship by actually living it. Along the way, I've been a CYstarters alum, a multi-time pitch competition winner, and a full-time student.

Underneath it all is a longer game: financial independence built on many streams, so that one day my giving can be as intentional as my building. I'm putting the same care into my own life — my health, my plans, and the future I'm building — that I put into my clients' brands.
